2015 NFL Draft: Junior Sylvestre signed by the Indianapolis Colts

Sylvestre is now officially a Colt.

Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

The linebacker from Toledo, Junior Sylvestre, has been signed by the Indianapolis Colts.

Sylvestre was one of the most productive linebackers over the past two years in the MAC. As a junior he led the MAC in tackling with 118 total and tallied 9.5 TFLs with five sacks. As a senior he led the Rockets in tackling again with an even 100 tackles and another 9.5 TFLs. Both years he earned spots on the First Team All-MAC.

While his production was never a question, his height and measurables sure were. At only 6-0 and 222 pounds he doesn't have the size that many NFL teams look for in their outside linebackers. He is probably suited to play weak side backer or maybe by a hybrid linebacker-safety position that has become popular in the NFL now. But first he will have to make his bones on special teams.

His speed and agility are something to marvel at and he sure can get after the quarterback. It takes a special player to get back to back 100 tackle seasons.

He was not invited to the Combine which was seen as a snub for some. Despite that he had a bevy of teams at this Pro Day.
