Alexander Duff (25 April 1806 – 12 February 1878), was a Scottish missionary in India; where he played a large part in the development of higher education.
Duff was born in Moulin, Perthshire, the son of a Gaelic-speaking farm servant. At St. Andrews University he was a distinguished student in arts and divinity.
